Dental &Vision Plans
Dental Plans
Regular dental exams and cleanings are critical to identify issues before they require major, costly procedures. If tooth decay goes unnoticed and untreated, you could be spending a lot of money for a root canal down the road. Most dental plans cover preventive visits at little or no additional cost. Children or Older adults represent a group that may find it worthwhile to enroll in a dental insurance plan. Generally, dental policies cover some portion of the cost of preventive care, fillings, crowns, root canals, and oral surgery, such as tooth extractions. Most plans follow the 100-80-50 coverage structure. That means they cover preventive care at 100%, basic procedures at 80%, and major procedures at 50%, or a larger co-payment.
Vision Plans
Did you know eye care professionals are often the first to detect signs of diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol? Even if you have perfect vision, yearly eye exams are essential. Vision plans often pay at least a portion of:
- Basic preventive care such as eye exams and vision tests.
- Eyeglass lenses.
- Contact lenses.
- Eyeglass frames.
- Lens protection for glasses, such as scratch-resistant coating.
